Inclusion in Practice:
Intercultural Studies, Part II
April 26, 2021
The CAN/DID Inclusion Series returns today with a new video on ethnic studies and reclaiming our humanity in the classroom.
This is the second installment in a three-part series highlighting inclusion in practice through De Anza's Intercultural and International Studies Division – the only academic division of its kind at a California community college.
In this video, Edmundo Norte, dean of Intercultural and International Studies, discusses the importance of including "more of what it means to be fully human" in education.
"That is part of our charge," says Norte. "Part of our goal is that we want every individual to develop fully in all the dimensions of their being."
This Friday, IIS will be hosting an Ethnic Studies Multiracial Panel event – the first in a series of five. Look for more CAN/DID Inclusion Series releases leading up to these weekly panel discussions.
Ethnic Studies Multiracial Panel Event
Join the Intercultural and International Studies Division for an online series of panel discussions and dialogues, which will bring together faculty representatives from our four core areas of ethnic studies, along with students, classified professionals and administrators from these racial, ethnic and cultural communities.
The panels will convene on five consecutive Fridays, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Look out for related CAN/DID Inclusion Series videos preceding each of the panels.
