Since March 2020, there have been over 1,000 Filipinx American hate incidents reported to Stop AAPI Hate. In Santa Clara County, a handful of these violent assaults toward Pinays have been charged and categorized as hate crimes. Data continues to suggest that attacks are disproportionately targeting Asian women, particularly elderly women.

This number does not reflect the victims who do not know where to report the incident or refuse to report it out of fear.

This workshop will cover the following topics:

• How can you play an active role against anti-Asian hate?
• What's the difference between a hate crime and an incident?
• Who do you report to if you experience a hate crime/incident?
• What can you do if you see someone experiencing a hate crime/incident?
• What local and state resources are available?
