Dear Students,

Here are some reminders and updates about steps the college is taking to reduce the potential for coronavirus exposure.

De Anza College will move lecture-based face-to-face classes to alternate formats, including online, beginning this Monday, March 16. Exceptions may include labs, studio arts and physical activity courses. You will hear directly from your instructor about your particular class.

The campus and most services – including the Food Pantry, Counseling, the Library, Admissions and Records, and others – will remain open. If you use Disability Support Services, please contact that office or your counselor.

De Anza is canceling or postponing most on-campus events for the next few weeks, in keeping with guidance from state health officials.

These are precautionary measures, as there have been no diagnosed cases of coronavirus on campus. As you may know, the coronavirus issue has been rapidly evolving in recent days, although we have been planning for a possible change in instructional format for several weeks now.

We want to assure you that you will be able to complete your classes and receive the grades and credits you have earned.

Please contact your instructor with any specific questions about classes. If you have any unresolved issues after speaking with your instructor, you may speak with their dean. (Contact information for each dean is listed on the academic division webpages, which are linked from the Academics page of the college website.)

We also want to let you know that spring quarter classes will begin on Monday, April 13, one week later than scheduled. The quarter will still end as scheduled, on June 26.

For more information and resources, please visit our website at deanza.edu/heathservices/coronavirus. We will also keep you posted by email and through other channels, as appropriate.

Thank you for your patience during this time.

Best wishes,
De Anza College
