It's never too early to start planning for winter quarter! Students can find their registration dates by using the Student Registration app in MyPortal and check the winter class schedule now available at deanza.edu/schedule.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Caravan
De Anza College has been selected as one of the host sites for the Transfer Guarantee to Historically Black Colleges and Universities Caravan this fall. The event will take place on Thursday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Main Quad. Some of the event activities will include representative visits from HBCU partner institutions, information about scholarships – like the Hoffman Agency HBCU Scholarship, workshops, potential on-site admissions, prizes, music and more. Help Is Available If You're Feeling Anxious About the Middle East
If you are feeling stressed or anxious about recent events in Israel and Gaza, there is help available to you. Students can contact De Anza's Mental Health and Wellness Center to request individual counseling, or use TimelyCare to speak with a mental health professional online, any time, for free. Employees can find support through the Foothill-De Anza district's Employee Assistance Program.

Don't Be Alarmed: Federal Emergency Alert Test
Federal authorities will conduct a brief test of the nationwide emergency alert system by sending a message to all mobile phones, as well as radio and TV receivers, at 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4. This test is being conducted by FEMA and the Federal Communications Commission. If you receive the test message, you don't need to do anything.

Parking Remains Free for Fall Quarter

New Location: ISP Transfer Fair This Week
This year's International Student Programs Transfer Fair will be held this week on Wednesday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Campus Center Conference Rooms A&B. (The event has been relocated from the Main Quad because of expected rain.)
The fair is organized primarily for students on F-1 visas but is open to all students. Representatives from more than 40 universities, including most of the UC and CSU campuses, will be attending.

Run, Hide, Defend: Active Assailant Training
UPDATE: The in-person sessions scheduled at Foothill and De Anza this week have been canceled, but the online session is still being offered. If you are having difficulty submitting your COVID-19 vaccination record or if the registration system says you are not in compliance even though you submitted your vaccination record more than 3 days ago, you can get assistance by sending an email to Nazy Galoyan, dean of Enrollment Services.
