Important Notices
Measure G Construction and Lot J Closure Starts Next Week
Contractors will begin installing fencing around the Flint Center site and Parking Lot J next week, as a preliminary step for Flint Center demolition work. Lot J is expected to be unavailable for parking through January 2025. You will regularly receive Measure G newsletters with new updates.
Just Drive
April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month. The Santa Clara County Emergency Medical Services Agency is promoting a “Just Drive” campaign to promote road safety and reduce distracted driving.
You can help with this by taking the pledge:
- Focus on the Road: Every journey, every time.
- Silence the Distractions: Before you start the engine, make a habit of silencing your phone.
- Speak Up for Safety: Encourage friends and family to take the pledge and commit to focused driving.

Events This Week
Denim Day is Today
You can help with with efforts to prevent sexual violence and substance abuse during the Denim Day event, sponsored by Student Health Services, today – April 23 – from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Main Quad.
You can decorate shirts and jeans at the event, and even enter your design into a prize drawing for the chance to win AirPods. Visit deanza.edu/healthservices/events for more information.
Spring Club Day is This Thursday
Spring Club Day is this Thursday, April 25! Stop by the Sunken Garden from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. to meet representatives from more than 60 clubs!
There will also be live performances, free refreshments and a Studio Ghibli animation-themed prize drawing. The event is free and open to all students. You can find more information on the ICC webpage.
Upcoming Events
International Student Transfer Fair: Open to All
Next Wednesday, May 1, International Student Programs is hosting a transfer fair from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in Conference Rooms A & B. The event will feature representatives from more than 40 universities – including most UC and CSU campuses. Other private, public, in-state, out-of-state and Ivy League schools, such as Columbia University, Boston University and more will also visit. While the event is primarily for students attending on a F-1 visa, the event is open to all students. You can find more information on the college events calendar.
Queer and Now Conference Is Next Thursday
The 10th annual Queer and Now Conference is next Thursday, May 2, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. in Conference Rooms A & B. The event, which focuses on the LGBTQ+ community, student success and more, is centered around the theme “Cultivating Queer Roots.”
Activities include a queer creative arts workshop, session on LGBTQ+ issues, and a performance by Jocquese.

The De Anza Planetarium advanced to the final round of voting for SFGate’s “Best of the Bay Area" list. It is nominated under the "Family Night Out" category.
