Blood Drive Tomorrow
Help save lives tomorrow – May 8 – by donating blood in Conference Rooms A&B! You can schedule your appointment at sbcdonor.org anytime from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. using sponsor code 1106.
Each registered donor will receive a $20 e-card and have the chance to win a VIP San Jose Earthquakes experience. The event is hosted in collaboration with the Stanford Blood Center. For more information, email Monica Galaviz at mgalaviz@stanford.edu
Child Development Anti-Bias Plenary Event
The Child Development and Education department is hosting an Anti-Bias Plenary on the theme “Empowering Educators and Students to Overcome Bias and Embrace Diversity” this Sunday, May 12, and Monday, May 13. The first day of the event will be in the Child Development Center and the second will be in Forum 3. The event, which is sponsored by the California Apprenticeship Initiative Grant, will take place from 9 a.m.-noon each day.

Recognizing Student Leaders
Student Leadership Award Nominations Due Next Sunday
VIDA and DASG invite you to nominate a student leader for the Student Leadership Awards, which recognizes students who have exhibited extraordinary leadership on or off campus. All De Anza student leaders are eligible and you may nominate yourself or someone else. Please send your nominations by next Sunday, May 19. Recipients of the award will be honored in the commencement program and at the Student Leadership Recognition Gala on Wednesday, June 5.

Park-It Market Open House Next Tuesday
West Valley Community Services is hosting a Park-It Market open house next Tuesday, May 14, from 2-3 p.m. The Park-It Market is a mobile food pantry that will be on campus, in front of the Registration and Student Services building. West Valley Community Services regularly visits campus on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month with their mobile food pantry. Learn more at deanza.edu/resources/food-pantry/
Third Annual UndocuSTEM Conference Next Friday
The third annual UndocuSTEM Conference will take place next Friday, May 17, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in Conference Rooms A&B. This year’s theme is “Dream in Action,” which helps support the conference’s goal of highlighting pathways for students to pursue STEM careers. You can attend a career panel and workshops on entrepreneurship, nursing, medical careers, school pathways and more. There will also be a traditional Peruvian dance from Escuela de Danzas Dones y Talentos. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Find more information about UndocuSTEM at deanza.edu/hefas/undocustem.
2024 Ethnic Studies Summit
The 2024 Ethnic Studies Summit will take place Wednesday, May 22, from 11:30 a.m.-3:20 p.m. in the Multicultural Center (MCC). The event is a reflection on the history and impact of ethnic studies at De Anza.
Activities will include Afro-Columbian drumming, a keynote speech from Allyson Tintiangco-Cubales, a student panel, and a community wisdom panel featuring guests Rose Amador-LeBeau, Gerardo Loera, Ruben Elias Canedo Sanchez and Andres Rodríguez. Graduation Update
Graduation Packs Now Available
You can now purchase Graduation Packs – which include a cap, gown, tassel and diploma cover – and affinity stoles at the De Anza Bookstore, online or in-store. Orders can be shipped to the store on campus or to your home.
You must order by June 14 in order to receive your items in time for Graduation on Saturday, June 29. If you need financial assistance in purchasing a gown, email Chelsey Taniguchi at taniguchichelsey@deanza.edu with your name and CWID. Find more information and updates at deanza.edu/graduation.
