DeHart Scholarship and President's Award for Service
Dear Student,
Today we’re highlighting another amazing student – this year's DeHart Scholarship recipient – plus three winners of the President’s Awards for Outstanding Service, given each year to a classified professional, faculty member and administrator.
These outstanding individuals will be recognized at the collegewide graduation ceremony this Saturday, June 29.
Adriana Aguilar: DeHart Scholarship
This year’s DeHart Scholarship winner is graduating with an associate degree in Nursing and says she was inspired by the kindness and skill of the nurses she met when her mother was ill several years ago.
“It’s more than just skills that are important,” said Adriana Aguilar. “Nurses care for the patient and their family members, too. It’s a therapeutic connection that really makes a big difference.”
Adriana worked as a medical assistant in a respiratory clinic during the COVID pandemic, and later volunteered in a vaccination clinic. The work was demanding, but she wasn’t deterred.
