Pedestrian Detours Starting This Week
Walkway to Kirsch Center
The pathway leading to the Kirsch Center that runs between the Football/Track Stadium and the Soccer and Softball fields will be closed beginning Friday, Oct. 4, because of construction for the Beach Volleyball facility.
- Signs marking a temporary detour will be posted for those walking to the Kirsch Center from the center or northern part of campus.
- ADA parking in Lot D will be diverted to Lot E.
Sunken Garden and Flint Center Walkway
The Sunken Garden and the walkway in front of Flint Center will be temporarily closed for safety during demolition work beginning Monday, Oct. 7.
- Drivers can still use the passenger drop-off area between the Flint Center and East Cottage.
- Pedestrians will need to walk around the Sunken Garden to reach the rest of campus.
Health Services Update
New Respiratory Virus Guidelines
Santa Clara County public health authorities have revised the guidelines for anyone who has a respiratory virus – including COVID-19, flu or RSV – and for anyone who a positive test result without symptoms or has been exposed to someone with a respiratory virus. Students and employees should follow the guidelines, which are summarized at deanza.edu/covid/protocols.
- Employees who test positive for COVID-19 are required to notify the district by completing the online employee self-reporting form.
- Students who test positive for COVID-19 are encouraged, but not required, to submit the student self-reporting form. Your report will help us keep track of exposures and may reduce the risk of further spreading.
You can request free home-testing kits from the federal government — up to four free kits per household, even if you received free kits in previous years — by visiting special.usps.com/testkits. You can also find more information about COVID-19 testing, vaccines and treatment by visiting the Santa Clara County Public Health Department's COVID-19 website.
