Update on Religious Exemptions to Vaccination Requirement
Dear Student,
We want to inform you of a change in requirements for students who have received a religious exemption to the COVID-19 vaccination requirement at De Anza.
Students with an exemption are no longer required to undergo COVID-19 testing as a condition for coming to campus, in keeping with Foothill-De Anza Community College District policy and Santa Clara County health guidelines.
You will still need to abide by all other requirements that are a condition of your exemption:
- If you test positive for COVID-19, you must stay at home for five days, except for receiving medical treatment,
and then take a new test for COVID-19. (Antigen or PCR tests are acceptable.)

- If your new test is positive or you continue to have symptoms, you must stay home for at least another five days.
- If your new test is negative, you can return to class but you must wear a face mask for an additional five days.

- If you are exposed to someone with COVID-19, but you do not have symptoms, you must get a COVID-19 test between three to five days after the exposure.
- If there is an outbreak of COVID-19 on campus, you may be asked to leave temporarily for your safety or the safety of others.
In addition, face masks are strongly recommended for everyone on campus, and may be required in some offices and classrooms.
