Reminder About Your Registration Hold

Dear Student,

We’re writing to remind you that a registration hold was placed on your student account in January, because you are on academic or progress probation. Until the hold is lifted, you won't be able to register for spring classes, obtain transcripts or receive any certificates or degrees.

We know that college can be difficult, and we want to support you in getting back on track toward reaching your goals. The Academic Awareness Program is here to help you.

Here’s how you can have your registration hold removed:

  1. Complete our student survey form as soon as possible: Click this link to get started.
  2. Complete your student action plan: Click this link to get started.
  3. Meet with your counselor: You must meet with your assigned Academic Awareness Program counselor to discuss your education plan in order to have your registration hold lifted. If you haven’t meet with your counselor yet, you should schedule an appointment ASAP by using this link. Your counselor assignment is determined by your last name:
    1. If your last name begins with A–L, your academic counselor is Phong Lam.
    2. If your last name begins with M–Z, your academic counselor is Glynn Wallis.
  4. Follow up with your student success specialist: You'll be partnered with a student success specialist who will check in with you by phone or email, or in person if you prefer. They can answer questions and help you get the support you need to succeed.

Please remember that students on academic probation for more than one quarter may lose their priority registration status and could lose eligibility for certain types of financial aid or veteran’s benefits. (The Financial Aid and Veterans Resource Center offices can provide more information about eligibility.)

For more information on academic and progress probation, please check the Probation Standards and Requirements webpage. You can also contact the Academic Awareness Program at 408.864.8388 or submit an inquiry through our online help desk.

Best wishes,
De Anza College
