Classified/Administrative Positions:
Espinosa-Pieb handed out the Instructional Position Request for 2015-2016. She reminded the members that only 3 positions would be approved and hired. In addition, the committee was informed that the funding for these positions is coming from a "one-time" pot of money that is only guaranteed for the next 3 to 4 years.
Because of funding limitations, the administrative positions were removed from the list.
Espinosa-Pieb asked the team to think about criteria that might help them identify and select the most essential campus positions.
After a lengthy discussion, the committee agreed on the following criteria for hiring classified positions.
The positions must correspond to:
- Campus wide needs
- Positions that are currently filled but with no ongoing budget
- Student Equity goals
- Impact on Students
- Legal Compliance (Ramification)
- Possible defunding
- Restoration of the positions that have been cut
IPB Team examined the document and applied the 7 mandatory conditions to each hiring request.
As of a result IPBT approved and voted on the following 3 classified positions:
- Technology Trainer/Coordinator
- CTE Career Development Coordinator
- Women’s Equipment Manger Position (50%)
Deans of these areas should start forming hiring committees.
