Approval of minutes
The minutes from the September 28, 2022 meeting were approved.
VRC and Year of the Rabbit project updates
The Veteran’s Resource Center (VRC) project work has begun. A meeting with Rotary members regarding the project will be held today. The scaffolding training was done last week. A materials receipt for the initial expenses is in process.
Year of the Rabbit project: The President asked that the committee select sites on campus and which rabbits would be purchased given a $20,000 budget. The committee identified 4 sites and chose 13 rabbits of different sizes. Sam Bliss will send the committee’s decision to Lloyd Holmes.
A Quad move update
Chia Wen did a test scan of the A5 mural to a 500MB file. This would allow a digital print to canvas or other material to recreate the mural when the building is demolished. The two A quad sculptures can be moved. Jennifer Mahato sent email to the Measure G bond team asking for funds to move the sculptures.
Cleaning Existing Art update
Jennifer Mahato is looking for vendors to clean the existing outdoor art on campus.
Refreshing student art on campus
A walk-through of the Campus Center will be scheduled in the near future. Daniel Smith, Diana Argabrite, Julie Hughes and Kenneth Wong will participate.
DASG application to buy student art
Per a previous committee decision Daniel Smith will apply for $2000 from DASG to purchase student art.
Student representative from Creative Arts division
Daniel Smith will follow up with Photo faculty and Hughes (Art Guild) to recruit the second student member of the committee.
At the next meeting the committee will focus on refreshing student art and relocating art from Forum 5
