Approval of minutes
The minutes from the November 28, 2022 meeting were approved.
Project updates
Veteran’s Center – The mural is completed. No date set for the unveiling, but it should be in February.
Cleaning art – Quotes were received for cleaning exterior artwork, but another quote will be obtained.
Student art refresh – A walkthrough will be scheduled. Due to the amount of work needed a an ongoing time each week might be needed.
Year of the Rabbit – Smith and Bliss are working with Kathleen Yates from the Cupertino Rotary Club to create an artist application link.
Tapestries update
A survey is nearly done, with pictures and locations included. The committee agreed they should be taken down as new artwork is put in place, cleaned, and then stored.
Facilities updates
No new updates besides those items noted above. Measure G bond contractors will need to use Forum 5, so the student art storage will need to be moved. The LCW basement is the most likely place to move it.
Project request form
The form will be drafted, with the fields as noted in previous minutes.
Budget
Discussion concerned the fact that there is no funding for the committee but funds are needed to carry out the actions of the committee. The committee will follow up with the Budget team to ask for ongoing funding, with a plan that may include a request for $50,000-$100,000 per year and where the money would go to.
