Campus Center Advisory Board

The group reviewed the notes, and they were approved.
Fireside Dining Room Update
A special Campus Center Advisory Board meeting was called because district purchasing deadlines for the fiscal year end are approaching soon and the committee needs to make some decisions about improvements to the Fireside Dining Room prior to the deadlines so that contracts/purchases can be completed.
The Fireside Room is in the Campus Center and is a room off the main lobby near the stairs. The goal for updating the room includes making it a Zoom compatible space, improve accessibility, and make it student focused.
Pictures of samples of previously approved paint colors, vinyl door lettering, window film, student Zoom pods (furniture), power bars (tables with electrical outlets) and flooring were shared with the group. These items will enhance and make the space more functional and will also allow students to attend classes and meetings via Zoom within separate spaces inside the rooms. The room will still be available for students during the campus center building open hours, and also available for staff to reserve.
A question was asked if the room can be used for other events as well as student use. It has been a space that can be reserved by departments/staff for events, as well as for students to use. The goal is to make the room more student usable for their needs, providing plenty of electrical outlets for devices in accessible furniture and places to attend online classes and study quietly.
The group reviewed updated paint, fonts for the glass door etching, window tinting for the door leading into the faculty/staff room, power tables, Zoom pods and new carpet samples. The color samples of the Zoom pods and the new carpet are keeping in the spirit of the school colors. The Zoom readiness and creation of opportunities for online class participation are eligible for federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES HEERF) Act funds. This improvement work was not previously budgeted (prior to COVID).
The DASG and ICC representatives will review these options, poll their members and report back.
