Notes
January 24, 2022
Review/Approve notes from October 11, 2021 meeting
The group reviewed the notes from the October 22, 2021 meeting. The notes were approved and Mahato asked the notes be reviewed again at the next CCAB meeting as attendance was light today.
Facilities Conditions Assessment Overview
A report was shared of the District wide facilities conditions assessment overview. The facilities conditions assessment is a high-level overview of the maintenance needs of the campuses. Each building was assessed, and a large document was created with scoring criteria. The scoring helps to identify and understand how much funding is needed over the next ten years.
For the Campus Center building specification, some noted items were:
- Campus Center sunroom portion of the main dining rooms was scored as a priority#2 (Potentially Critical). The recommendation of this item in the report is for full replacement.
- Campus Center needs painting and building stucco work that was also scored at a priority #2 (Potentially Critical). There were some tile areas listed in the report and those are outside of the newly installed tile flooring.
- Other items in the report, include skylights, windows, pipe and plumbing fixtures, including water heaters.
- The Campus Center mechanical and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and fire protection systems area were scored at a priority #1 (Currently Critical).
The Measure G Bond is heavily slated for infrastructure and the hope is the bond will cover some of the costs for these items in the assessment report.
Health Services doors/ADA compliance
The Campus Center Health Services office was recently updated with a new lobby and waiting room area. The flow of student traffic has changed in the space and there is a reception window to keep staff and students separate. The doors in this newly created lobby area will be changed on the exterior so the office is accessible to everyone. The change is an accessibility code requirement (meeting American Disabilities Act guidelines) and will also make for a better student experience using the space.
Fireside Dining Room update
The Fireside Dining room walls have been recently updated with a fresh coat of paint. The arched fireplace has been primed for a new color of paint. A picture and options for color were shared with the group. This item will be brought forward again at the next meeting for more participation.
The Fireside Dining room doors will have new lettering for better identification of the room. Three examples of different lettering styles and fonts were shown. A curved lettering orientation was chosen and more information will be shared at the next meeting.
