Info, Support, and Gender Affirming Care

  • The Q Corner - Peer driven services to support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Santa Clara County, through resource navigation, community events, trainings and more!  The Q Corner also offers a program where individuals can receive free gender affirming undergarments. Please note that the Q Corner recently moved into the collecQTIve, at 1870 Senter Rd., San Jose, CA 95112.
    • Harm ReduQion Project - Affirming, trauma-centered support for LGBTQ+ folks who use substances; including support, education, and connection to resources and free Naloxone.  Contact the Harm ReduQion Project today at harmreduqion@hhs.sccgov.org or call (408) 961-4497. 
  • Gender Affirming Care Clinic (GACC) - Provides outpatient behavioral health services to transgender and gender diverse folks in Santa Clara County.  Services include therapy, group peer support, psychoeducation, referrals, and navigating gender affirming care.  They serve those with Medi-Cal insurance as well as those who are uninsured.  Website coming soon, but to connect, email them at gacc@hhs.sccgov.org or call at 408.977.8800.  GACC is also located at the collecQTIve, at 1870 Senter Rd., San Jose, CA 95112.
  • Gender Health Center (GHC) - all ages clinic specialized in caring for transgender, gender non-binary, and gender expansive people in the South Bay. Call (408) 977-4550 for more information.
  • Office of LGBTQ+ Affairs - Provides leadership and support for the well-being and longevity of LGBTQ+ communities in Santa Clara County.  They lead various initiatives within the county to support LGBTQ+ individuals across the workplace, healthcare, education, and housing sectors, and they host an annual LGBTQ+ Summit, along with other initiatives.

Mental Health & Support Groups

  • LGBTQ+ Wellness - A community outreach and support program that uplifts the mental health and holistic wellness of LGBQIA+ adults in Santa Clara County.  They offer a mix of in-person and virtual peer support and social groups for LGBTQIA+ and questioning adults in Santa Clara County.

  • LGBTQ+ Youth Space - Offers peer support groups and counseling services for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults in Santa Clara County.  Their mental health services are available to folks 13-25 and are offered in multiple languages.

Housing and Basic Needs

  • Bill Wilson Center - Has programs focusing on housing, education, counseling, and advocacy.  They have housing services specific to college students and LGBTQ+ individuals.  They also have a LGBTQ+ Drop-In Center.
  • New Haven Inn - LGBTQ+ inclusive shleter in downtown San José, accessed by referral only.  To get on the list, call the Here4You Hotline call center at (408) 385-2400 and mention that you need a "LGBTQ+ shelter option only".

LGBTQ Events

  • Silicon Valley Pride - A celebration of the South Bay LGBTQ+ community and their allies since 1975.  They are the organizers of Silicon Valley Pride Parade and Festival, which takes place every August, as well as many events throughout the year including an annual LGBTQ+ Student Scholarship
  • Billy De Frank Center - Supports the health and wellbeing of the LGBTQ+ community and allies by providing a safe space for everyone to be themselves, explore who they are, and nurture continual growth as human beings.  The Center provides an LGBTQ+ space, activities, group discussions, and social events including a weekly bingo, online discussion groups, and holiday events.
