D CCLC President Larry Galizio and ASCCC President Dolores Davison The De Anza College community is invited to a special College Council webinar* on shared governance in California Community Colleges. Special guests will be Community College League of California (CCLC) president Larry Galizio and Academic Senate for California Community Colleges (ASCCC) president Dolores Davison.

President Holmes welcomed all attendees to the webinar and remarked on the importance of reviewing the shared governance process. De Anza has been gathering feedback through surveys that have gone out to students, staff and faculty and also by discussion in shared governance groups. College Council members completed a survey at the request of the presenters. Non College Council members were asked to forward questions during the webinar to their representatives who would share with the presenters. Karen Chow shared her enthusiasm on hearing possible ways to review shared governance to be more inclusive and equitable. She also highlighted the importance of good communication and thanked the Communications team for their help engaging in the discussions and putting the webinar together.
President Holmes welcomed CCLC President Larry Galizio and ASCCC President Dolores Davison. Dr. Larry Galizio and Dolores Davison introduced themselves and thanked Marisa Spatafore, President Holmes and Karen Chow for the invitation to engage in the discussion. The Collegiality In Action presentation began soon after and included discussion and Q&A from the attendees.
President Holmes closed the webinar by thanking Dr. Larry Galizio and Dolores Davison and the participants. He emphasized that this is not the end of the conversation, but the beginning and focused on the need to come together and engage in building collaboration aiming to create trust and transparency. President Holmes spoke to the important role that students play in building such collaborations. Karen Chow shared her thoughts on the need to have more discussions on a deeper, local level on how to achieve trust and the importance of messaging and communication to achieve transparency. College Council thanked and recognized Iman Seale for the amazing work on organizing the webinar.
