We recommend that all new students complete our short Orientation program as early as possible. You'll get answers to many of your questions about classes, registration, student services and more. You'll also get help completing
your preliminary educational plan.
We offer orientation through live workshops on Zoom, or through an online course that
you can complete at your own pace.

If you need to speak with an academic counselor, we are here for you. All new students can speak with one of our Outreach counselors by phone
or Zoom video. (Before you see a counselor, we recommend going through Orientation first, since it's likely to answer many of your questions.)
Use our online scheduling system to book an appointment, or you can see a counselor
without an appointment during our "drop in" hours on Zoom. Visit our Outreach counseling webpage for details.

If you haven't already done so, you should check to make sure you've completed the assessment process for Math and English (or English as a Second Language). Assessment is a requirement for priority enrollment and it helps you select the classes that are right for you.
The good news is: We no longer require placement tests! Under new policies, most students can be
assessed on the basis of their high school transcripts.
You can check MyPortal to see your placements for Math and English or ESL. If you don't see your placements
listed, you'll need to follow a few easy steps to complete the assessment process.
